This piece was a commission to celebrate a couples significant anniversary. It was a couple in an embrace, but unfortunately the man sheared off the sculpture. I rang the client and explained the situation, and she told me her husband had been diagnosed with terminal cancer with not long to live. She asked me to keep working the stone. He past away before the piece was finished. The finished piece was a lady leaning forward just about to stand up. I called her Eve. Her hair is Caucasian on one side and Black African afro style on the other side - true blend of the nations. My client expressed how the sculpture was just how she felt, on her knees but trying to find her feet.
